Dylan Rodgers, Division Chief

Dylan Rodgers is the Division Chief of the Bradford County Fire Rescue Department, overseeing all divisions and functions, including daily operations, training, and compliance. Reporting directly to the Chief of Fire Rescue, he supervises all employees within the department. 

Dylan’s passion for public safety began early when he started volunteering at the Heilbronn Springs Volunteer Fire Department alongside his father at just 15 years old. 

His professional journey started in 2008 as a part-time 9-1-1 telecommunicator at the Bradford County Combined Dispatch Center, where he received, processed, and dispatched emergency calls. While still in high school, Dylan was a dual-enrollment student at the Santa Fe College Institute of Public Safety, completing the EMT program and becoming a Nationally Registered EMT before graduation. 

In June 2009, Dylan began his career with Bradford County Emergency Services as an EMT and later earned his certifications as a Florida-certified Paramedic and State of Florida Certified Firefighter. 

In 2020, following the Board of Bradford County Commissioners’ decision to establish a combined Fire Rescue department by merging Emergency Medical Services, Dylan was promoted from Lieutenant to Division Chief. He has played a pivotal role in developing and leading the Bradford County Fire Rescue Department. 

Jeremy Loomis, Training Captain

Captain Jeremy Loomis started at Bradford County EMS in 2009. He was a paramedic for 4 years prior to promoting to Shift Supervisor. Jeremy served as a Lieutenant for 8 years before promoting to Training Captain in 2021. Captain Loomis is the lead American Heart Association instructor for Bradford County Fire Rescue where he hosts BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses. He is in charge of on boarding and the Field Training Officers which oversees the training of all new hires for the department. Captain Loomis chairs the Quality Assurance/Improvement program for the department to ensure high quality care is being provided to all of our patients. He is very involved in the region as he sits on multiple boards where he is involved with progressing the Fire/EMS industry and training standards. Captain Loomis has a passion for mental and physical wellness of employees and is a part of the department’s Wellness Committee and the department Peer Support Team.

Chris Cooksey, Fire Marshal

Chris Cooksey has dedicated his life to serving his community through firefighting and emergency medical services. His journey began with volunteering as a firefighter from 1992 to 1996, where he developed a passion for helping others. In 1996, he officially began his career as a firefighter EMT and advanced to become a firefighter paramedic in 1999. 

Driven by a commitment to excellence, Chris pursued higher education, earning degrees in Emergency Medical Services and Fire Science. Throughout his career, he completed numerous certifications, including Fire Officer I and II, Fire Investigator, Fire Inspector I and II, Fire Service Instructor I and II, Live Fire Training Instructor, and Technical Rescue. 

His expertise and leadership allowed him to rise through the ranks of Bradford County Fire Rescue, ultimately becoming Fire Marshal and Operations Team Leader for the Special Operations team. In these roles, Chris oversees fire prevention and safety regulations while leading his team in complex emergency situations. 

David Weeks, Community Paramedic Lieutenant

Lt. Weeks has dedicated over a decade to serving his community as a paramedic with Bradford County Fire Rescue. His journey in emergency services began as a volunteer firefighter, where he developed a passion for public safety and helping others. With 11 years of experience as a paramedic, he has risen through the ranks to hold the position of Lieutenant.

In 2024, Lt. Weeks took on the significant responsibility of creating and overseeing a Community Paramedicine Program, showcasing his commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and outcomes for his community. A proud alumnus of the University of Florida, Lt. Weeks holds a bachelor’s degree in Fire and Emergency Services, combining academic excellence with his dedication to emergency response.

Lt. Weeks’ primary focus is now on improving the overall health of the community, with a particular emphasis on assisting populations in greatest need. His dedication and leadership continue to make a meaningful and lasting impact on both his team and the lives of those he serves.
